SCMC was at the center of the $40 million Arrival Experience beautification of Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino (SNRC). As Seneca Gaming Corporation’s (SGC) flagship Class III gaming property, the resort casino was transformed into the state’s most posh and visually stimulating tourism destination.
SCMC was the construction manager overseeing more than 30 subcontractors for the multi-phased engagement. The main challenges for this project included working within a fully operational facility without impacting the patron’s resort and gaming experience, while ensuring ongoing revenue projections. Weather also played a major factor during construction. The renovation called for completely removing the front wall of the building and replacing it with a 40-foot tall glass curtainwall – during a winter season with some of the lowest temperatures and highest wind speeds on record. Additional upgrades included completion of a flowing, landscaped entry, extensive landscaping, installation of sculptured Seneca Nation clan features and a new drive-thru, porte-cochere-covered entryway.
Inside, the project includes a new look for the lobby, relocating the Lobby Bar, and space that gives “expansive” views into the gaming area. Today, the casino floor now has an area of 147,000 sq. ft. with 99 gaming tables and 4,200 slot machines. The overall Arrival Experience renovation project was finished in June 2019.
